Biography

I’m Kurt Gawinowicz and I’m a senior in Digital Media at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I chose to study Digital Media because I wanted a career in web design, but I also appreciate the opportunity to dabble in other multimedia.

I have worked with HTML, CSS, and Flash since early high school, eventually becoming the head webmaster at Springfield Township High School in 11th grade. And I haven't looked back since. I love design.

I have extensive experience in developing XHTML, CSS, and have a thorough knowledge of virtually the entire Adobe Creative Suite. I have experience with Autodesk Maya, with Javascript and jQuery, and with Wordpress. I have also have experience using social media in support of online marketing campaigns, utilizing sites and services like Facebook and Twitter.

Aside from my interest in design, I played inline hockey for Drexel and Boston University and I like to play ice or inline hockey whenever I get the chance. I also play drums, which I’ve been doing since I was 10. Let me know if you want to jam.

Springfield Township School District - Oreland, PA

  • Technology Department Assistant, June 2006 - September 2007:
    • Responded to individual technology support requests (primarily concerning hardware) within the four district schools.
    • Maintained and upgraded computer and networking systems throughout the district.
  • Head Webmaster, January 2004 - June 2006:
    • Designed and maintained four distinct websites for each school in the district.
    • Redesigned the Springfield Township School District main website using HTML, CSS, Flash and PHP.
    • Coordinated news and information from each school in the District and posted it online.
    • Managed a group of five webmasters to efficiently perform aforementioned responsibilities.
